One of the most chameleonic and acclaimed actors in our cinema, Gian Maria Volonté dedicated his extraordinary acting talents, based on a natural mimetic ability and an obsessive commitment to his craft, to the best of socially engaged cinema. Although he made significant contributions to Italian genre cinema, particularly the western, his name is closely associated with the films of Elio Petri and Francesco Rosi. Volonté is one of the most beloved actors, not only by film enthusiasts, but also by the greatest Italian and international actors.

Volonté – A Man with a Thousand Faces, which had its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, aims to portray him by showcasing elements of his biographical and artistic journey while simultaneously involving some of the most important figures in our cinema who will help celebrate his greatness. Among them will be Pierfrancesco Favino, Valeria Golino, Fabrizio Gifuni, Valerio Mastandrea and Toni Servillo.
