Rosa - the gospel of the sirens is a poetic portrait of Sicily's most important folksinger, Rosa Balistreri, by actress Isabella Ragonese, making her absolute debut behind the camera.

Rosa is recounted through the words and lives of a group of Sicilian women whose life experiences resonate with those of the singer-songwriter herself, who found in song - imperfect but highly communicative - the cathartic expression of all the unprecedented violence she suffered. The documentary is a multi-voice dialogue in which the lives of those who, like Rosa, had to face a complicated life by transforming pain into poetry of the everyday are explored.
