But this is also the story of the most famous artistic rivalry ever, the one between Borromini and Bernini, and above all the story of Borromini's rivalry with himself: a genius so attached to his art that he turned it into a demon that devoured him from the inside, to the point of driving him to choose death, in a dramatic gesture, in order to touch eternity. The documentary winds its way through the streets of Rome through contemporary re-enactments and interviews with experts of Borromini's art, leading an exciting visual as well as historical journey.
