Documentary

On the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth, this documentary honors him by telling the great director from an unprecedented point of view: that of American director Wes Anderson.

In "Fantastic Mr. Fellini" Anderson traces some topics that are close to him and, at the same time, close to Fellini's poetics. Thoughts and memories of the Italian Maestro, narrated by the voice of Stefano Accorsi, are the cue for Anderson to let his reflections flow and to intersect them with his own personal artistic experience.

A dialogue that shows the similarities between the two and the lessons Anderson has learned from seeing Fellini's films. Federico Fellini, Wes Anderson: so far, so close. Two artists belonging to two profoundly different historical moments but united by a similar approach to cinema, inventive and dreamy at the same time, in which color, details and faces reign supreme.

The structure of this auteur tribute to the Rimini director is structured around a few chapters that represent an ideal "shared" Fellini alphabet and allow Fellini and Anderson to "dialogue" around themes capable of suggesting the similarities between them and Anderson to tell his story as a director.
